This project reinvented a narrow downtown home with an addition and renovation. Our design gave a nod to the original character of the house yet leaned into modern and functional aesthetics. Once past the front façade (restored to fit the street environment) the house unfolded towards a contemporary open-plan addition. All rear windows were made floor-to-ceiling in both the main floor and the upstairs principle bedroom. The ground floor was dominated by a light-filled kitchen and living space. Skylights above the stairs further filtered light through the home’s center.
