With space feeling like a limited resource and two kids quickly becoming teenagers, our client was overwhelmed with the housing market, considering whether to look for a larger house or add on to her existing starter home. After some schematic design exercises to discover what we could achieve, she decided to go ahead with a renovation and addition. The brief was to upgrade the second floor to house three bedrooms with a principal suite and a shared bathroom for the kids. She also wanted to expand the ground floor and basement for more family friendly hangout space. The first site visits revealed that our client had an incredible art and vintage furniture collection, but nowhere to display it to its full advantage. From the start we were designing with this in mind. Carefully selected finishes compliment the beautiful collection of objects and art. Every tile and paint colour was considered. 

The result is architecture that creates a serene backdrop to let the art and life of the family come to the forefront.
